Treatment of George's Anemia

George was referred to our Emergency and Critical Care Team by his primary veterinarians due to severe anaemia. Thankfully, a suitable feline blood donor was found, and George received a blood transfusion that significantly improved his condition.

Further investigations revealed a diagnosis of non-associative immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia.

George began immunosuppressive therapy, and after three days of hospitalisation, he was discharged  with oral medication.

We have been closely monitoring George's recovery and have spoken to both his primary vet and his owners. We are happy to report that George's anaemia has fully resolved, and he is thriving at home!
