Cathy Giraldo-Pino

Cathy got her veterinary degree in Colombia in 2012, then, she moved to Spain to begin working in first opinion. She achieved the GPCertSAS with the ISVPS, followed by the Postgraduate Certificate in small animal practice with the Autonomous University of Barcelona. During her internship in a veterinary university hospital in Spain, she fell in love with ECC and since then she has been working in veterinary referrals hospitals in Spain and UK in that field.

In the last few years, she achieved a certificate in geriatrics and gerontology as she believes elderly pets deserve all our love and support in their last years of life. More recently she got the Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Professional studies with the University of Liverpool, and the designated Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice in ECC from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. At present she continues striving to progress academically in emergency and critical care.

She has some publications in Spanish and Latin America journals and has presented posters in international congresses.

Outside of work, she likes to read novels, play the guitar, whilst keeping fit,
gardening and spending time with family and beloved pets.
